We are proud to announce the successful conclusion of the first-ever Visit Makeni Trade Fair, an impactful initiative designed to promote and support small local business owners within the agriculture and food value chain  and beyond.

The event marked a major milestone for Makeni’s entrepreneurial community, bringing together farmers, food processors, agro-entrepreneurs, investors, development partners, and community members for a day of networking, innovation, and collaboration.

A standout feature of the event was the live culinary experience. Using locally sourced products from participating vendors, we prepared a variety of delicious delicacies on-site.This interactive demonstration highlighted the quality and versatility of local products.

The event was honored by the presence of Manoto Tundari, Chief Technical Advisor of the International Labour Organization (ILO Sierra Leone).

In his keynote address, Mr. Tundari spoke about the positive impact the Visit Makeni Trade Fair is already making in strengthening small enterprises and fostering inclusive economic growth. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and expressed his enthusiasm for future partnerships aimed at supporting and scaling local businesses.

His remarks underscored the significance of creating sustainable platforms that empower entrepreneurs and drive community development.
